Vi que você pode exibir imagens embutidas no iTerm2
Mas quando eu cliquei no link para Download imgcat aqui, ele me levou a um URL que continha o script. Mas o que eu faço com isso? copiar em algum lugar? executá-lo depois?

Basta instalar o "Shell Integration" e ele será instalado automaticamente para você.
No menu iTerm2, basta clicar em "Instalar integração do shell"
Você deve ver a saída indicando que o imgcat está instalado:
