Por que não consigo abrir arquivos DMG que residem em um sistema de arquivos NFS somente leitura?

Descobri um problema estranho ... se eu tenho DMGs (arquivos de imagem de disco) que residem em um compartilhamento NFS somente leitura, não consigo abri-los no Mac OS X 10.7.5. Os mesmos arquivos abrem bem quando acessados ​​pelo AFP. No entanto, tentar abri-los usando hdiutil attacho compartilhamento NFS resulta em "falha na conexão - sistema de arquivos somente leitura":

Não tenho um compartilhamento NFS para testar, mas tentaria ter um sistema silencioso e executaria fs_usagepara ver se consigo pegar o sistema de arquivos fazendo uma chamada de gravação - possivelmente registrando um erro na Apple. Parece que você deve ser capaz de ler um read-only DMG - mas talvez haja alguma razão mais profunda técnico porque está a falhar e o sistema operacional precisa de uma mensagem de erro melhor para nos informar por que ...

Qual sistema operacional é executado no servidor NFS? Qual é a saída do rpcinfo -pservidor? Qual é a saída do mountseu Mac? Você também pode adicionar a linha relevante /etc/exportsno servidor NFS à pergunta?

Configurei um servidor NFS (Ubuntu 12.04) com uma exportação somente leitura que montei no meu Mac (OS X 10.8.2) e não consegui reproduzir seu problema (testei todos os formatos dmg: somente leitura, compactado, criptografado, etc) ... Você poderia adicionar a saída hdiutil -debuge as informações solicitadas à sua pergunta?

Estou interessado nesta questão desde novembro de 2012 e até configurei uma VM do FreeNAS para reproduzir o problema.

Acabei desistindo, mas como a pergunta foi ressuscitada , compartilharei o que descobri naquela época e nas últimas horas (felizmente não excluí a VM) e qual acho que é a causa desse problema. Eu também encontrei uma solução alternativa.

Minha configuração

Primeiro de tudo, esta é a minha configuração de teste:

  • OS X 10.8.2 (desculpe, não 10.7.5 por aí).

  • FreeNAS (FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p1)

    (A versão do OP é FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p7 - não consegui encontrar a mesma versão.)

  • Um sistema de arquivos NAS em /mnt/raid:

  • Um usuário chamado netboot:

  • Um sistema de arquivos AFP ( /mnt/raid/netboot) exportado como netboot:

    (Observe que está configurado como somente leitura).

  • Um sistema de arquivos NFS (o mesmo caminho do sistema de arquivos AFP, para corresponder à configuração do OP:) /mnt/raid/netboot:

O AFP funciona, o NFS não

Montei o sistema de arquivos somente leitura AFP como usuário netbootusando o Finder com ⌘K:

e montou um arquivo de imagem DMG sem problemas:

Erro 30 significa (consulte man 2 intro):

30 Sistema de arquivos somente leitura EROFS. Foi feita uma tentativa de modificar um arquivo ou diretório em um sistema de arquivos que era somente leitura no momento.

Não é nenhuma surpresa aqui, é realmente um sistema de arquivos somente leitura, mas ... quando montado sobre o AFP funciona, por que?

Porque a implementação NFS da Apple tem alguns problemas com o bloqueio. Conforme declarado neste post no gluster.org:

O OS X faz uma quantidade fenomenal de bloqueio de arquivos (alguns diriam desnecessariamente) e sempre foi muito sensível à configuração do bloqueio nos servidores NFS. Tanto é assim que, se você escolher aleatoriamente um servidor NFS em uma grande empresa, o verdadeiro sucesso é bastante improvável.

Na minha configuração, o servidor NFS (ou seja, a VM do FreeNAS) ficou subitamente irresponsivo (do meu Mac /var/log/system.log):

Erro 5 significa (novamente de man 2 intro):

5 EIO Erro de entrada / saída. Ocorreu algum erro físico de entrada ou saída. Este erro não será relatado até uma operação subsequente no mesmo descritor de arquivo e poderá ser perdido (sobrescrito) por quaisquer erros subsequentes.

que não é nada surpreendente, o sistema de arquivos NFS se foi.

Gambiarra

Uma solução alternativa (testada no OS X 10.8) é montar o NFS com opções nolocks,locallocks. Como explicado no post no gluster.org já mencionado:

Felizmente, há uma correção: basta desativar o bloqueio de rede. Você pode fazer isso adicionando as opções "nolocks, locallocks" no campo de opções avançadas da interface do usuário de montagem do Disk Utility NFS, mas isso é doloroso se você fizer muitas delas e não ajuda em nada com / net. Você pode editar o arquivo / etc / auto_master para adicionar essas opções à entrada / net, mas isso não afeta outras montagens - no entanto, recomendo excluir a opção hidefromfinder no auto_master. Se você deseja consertar todas as montagens automáticas, edite o /etc/autofs.conf e procure a linha que começa com AUTOMOUNTD_MNTOPTS =. Essas opções são aplicadas em todas as montagens. Adicione nolocks, locallocks e seu mundo ficará mais rápido e feliz após a reinicialização.

Eu montei manualmente 172.16.54.186:/mnt/raid/netboote funcionou perfeitamente:

Também editei /etc/auto_masterassim:

e funcionou como um encanto:

anexo hdiutil - somente…

Para uma imagem armazenada em um sistema de arquivos somente leitura, acho que -readonlydeve ser usada no momento do anexo.

(O caso AFP pode ser excepcional.)

Considerando o voto negativo e o comentário de @Josh: eu não entendi a -shadowparte da página de manual para hdiutil:

… Permite que imagens somente leitura sejam anexadas leitura / gravação…

- Imaginei que isso -shadowpoderia substituir -readonly.

Em relação à sua edição, não, use os dois -readonlye -shadowleia de um arquivo de sombra, mas monte a imagem somente leitura. Portanto, por exemplo, você pode ler as alterações feitas em um arquivo de sombra sem atualizar esse arquivo de sombra. O problema foi o bloqueio do NFS quando o jaume descobriu.
