Originalmente, eu postei isso em /programming/9665189/php-on-command-line-displays-out-of-memory, mas fui aconselhado a postar aqui.
Esse não é o erro fatal normal quando você fica sem memória em um script, pois não fornece um nome de arquivo, um número de linha ou a quantidade de memória usada. Ele simplesmente diz "Memória insuficiente" sempre que tento executar o php na linha de comando, quando você passa um script ou simplesmente executa o php sozinho. Mesmo tentando executar um script que não existe, dá a mesma mensagem.
Em outras palavras, eu entendo isso:

Contudo, o PHP através do Apache funciona absolutamente bem. É apenas na CLI que eu recebo esse erro.
A máquina em questão está executando o CentOS versão 5.7 (Final), que é de 64 bits e o PHP 5.3.10. É um servidor dedicado.

todo o olhar normal (muito padrão de fato). Portanto, eu assumiria um problema com o próprio binário PHP ou uma extensão (talvez compilada para uma versão diferente do PHP). Você também pode fornecer uma lista das extensões PHP instaladas (por exemplo, APC / Eaccelerator / Xdebug etc.).
