O problema
Um servidor travou após várias mensagens de "Memória insuficiente" e estou tentando identificar o culpado. Se estiver na terra do usuário - qual processo. Se estiver no kernel - qual módulo do kernel.

Estou tentando descobrir como usar o utilitário de falha para investigar o que acionou um OOM em um servidor.
Como parte da instalação de um novo par de servidores, iniciei a inicialização de um dispositivo DRBD de 14 TB . Durante esse período, enquanto brincava com a configuração da taxa do sincronizador DRBD e trazia para cima e para baixo algumas das interfaces de rede vinculada, um dos servidores travou. Durante um período de 30 segundos, produziu 39 Out of memory: Kill process ####
mensagens. Em seguida, caiu com:
Kernel panic - not syncing: Out of memory and no killable processes...
A falha do sistema provocou um kdump . Agora eu tenho um vmcore.flat
arquivo legal que deve ser fácil de usar para investigar o problema, mas tenho dificuldade em descobrir para onde foi toda a memória.
O único recurso que eu conheço é o site de Dedoimedo , que possui boas instruções , e o Kernel Crash Book . Esses também são os únicos recursos sugeridos nas respostas, portanto, presumo que essa crash
é a única maneira de investigar.
Se houver outra maneira de post-mortem no incidente, estou disposto a aceitá-lo. É exatamente esse crash
o único utilitário que eu conheço. Tudo o que tenho agora é o vmcore.flat
arquivo e tudo o que preciso saber é qual componente consumiu toda essa memória. Estou suspeitando de um problema no módulo do kernel e, mais especificamente, um do módulo de ligação (que foi acionado ao derrubar uma interface), o módulo DRBD (versão 8.3.15, construído fora da árvore no CentOS 6.3) ou um dos Módulos Ethernet 10G ( mlnx_en
construídos em árvore, que é a interface que abaixei, ou na árvore, bnx2x
que é a interface que permaneceu ativa). Tudo o que preciso saber é se existe uma maneira de verificar minha suspeita.

). Não mostra nada de anormal, mas também não mostra nada sobre os threads do kernel.

Incluindo um pouco mais de produção, conforme sugerido por Soham. Infelizmente, não consigo tirar conclusões adicionais. O melhor que posso fazer é suspeitar de algo na memória vazando do kernel, pois os processos da terra do usuário estão quase todos mortos de qualquer maneira.
