Processo Linux morto, embora haja memória suficiente disponível

Estou investigando por que dois de nossos processos foram mortos pelo assassino do Linux OOM - embora pareça haver RAM suficiente e bastante SWAP disponível nos dois momentos.

Quando o interpreto como esta resposta, a primeira solicitação de memória solicitou 2 ^ 2 = 4 páginas (16KB) de memória (sinalizador de ordem) e queria que fosse da zona "Normal".

Por que o assassino da OOM foi acionado então? Estou analisando as informações incorretamente?

O sistema é um Ubuntu 14.04 com o kernel 4.4.0-59 x64
A vm.overcommit_memoryconfiguração está definida como "0" ( heurística ), o que pode não ser o ideal.

Vale ressaltar que, mesmo que haja memória livre suficiente, não é garantido que haverá 16 KB contíguos. Não tenho certeza se isso se aplica aqui ou não.

Correto, mas se eu analisar corretamente a saída, deve haver vários blocos de 16 KB disponíveis: "19 * 16kB (H)" para a primeira ocorrência. Talvez eu tenha encontrado um bug relevante no kernel, vou publicá-lo como uma resposta (possível).
