Atualize a versão Git no Ubuntu 14.04

Parece que o git 2.x foi instalado, mas posso continuar recebendo a versão antiga.

Você precisa adicionar o repositório do Git Maintainers para obter a versão mais recente do Git.

Por favor, execute estes comandos em ordem:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:git-core/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install git

Em seguida, verifique a versão do Git instalado:

git --version

Nem sempre é necessário remover o Git existente antes de atualizá-lo, mas se você tiver algum problema, faça o seguinte e repita as etapas mencionadas acima:

sudo apt-get remove git

Você tem uma segunda cópia do git instalada na /usr/local/binqual está sendo usada, em vez do git instalado no sistema.

Sem saber como o outro git foi instalado, eu diria que você precisa remover manualmente o outro binário do git /usr/local/bin.
