Para desativar o download de traduções, crie um arquivo chamado /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/99translationse coloque o seguinte:

Acquire::Languages "none";

Você também pode precisar remover os arquivos de tradução existentes em / var / lib / apt / lists /

Isso parece ser bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=624218 que deve ser corrigido na versão do apt na 11.10

Só para constar (já que alguns tropeçarão nisso ..) o arquivo 99Translations acima fará com que o apt vomite - remova a linha "Packages: *" - apenas uma linha é suficiente:

Acquire::Languages "none";

Além disso, o apt ainda recuperará os arquivos para sua localidade / idioma.

Habilite o pipelining para agrupar essas solicitações, o que é muito mais rápido:

Acquire::http { Pipeline-Depth "200"; }

Mas, na minha experiência, isso pode resultar em downloads quebrados; códigos de erro http parecem estar em cascata ou algo assim. Deve ser bastante seguro se você estiver falando com o apt-cacher-ng (modo espelho ou modo proxy). Caso contrário, esteja preparado para desativá-lo se o seu espelho quebrar.

Eu desaconselharia a configuração de idiomas para none, porque ele quebra apt-cache search(nenhum significa nenhum, quando pesquisas úteis precisariam de descrições em pelo menos um idioma). O padrão baseado em localidade inclui variantes regionais desnecessárias, mas algo como isto:

Acquire::Languages { "fr"; "en"; };

é razoável.

Encontrei isso porque eu estava procurando uma solução também. Foi uma nova instalação dos testes do Debian. O seguinte comando (como sugerido acima) o corrigiu:

Vá para Suporte ao idioma , clique em Instalar / remover idiomas ... e desmarque os idiomas que você não deseja.

Se você removeu todos os idiomas, o padrão será o inglês genérico. Observe que os pacotes en-US são considerados um idioma separado; portanto, você deve desmarcar o inglês para desinstalar seus pacotes.
