Estou desenvolvendo um tema e queria adicionar um conteúdo extra à página de opções de plano de fundo incorporada. Sei como usar a API de configurações para criar novas opções e configurações de temas, mas não consigo descobrir para onde está realmente chamando a página de plano de fundo. Eu pesquisei wp-includes/theme.phpe ainda não muito, exceto chamadas para as funções em segundo plano e nada que realmente renderize a página.
Isso não pode ser feito com uma ação?

O conteúdo da página para planos de fundo personalizados é criado em wp-admin/custom-background.php. Não há ação disponível onde os campos são impressos.
Para adicionar novos campos, temos que imprimir JavaScript no rodapé da página. A ação é 'admin_footer-appearance_page_custom-background'.
Para salvar esses valores de campo, precisamos nos conectar 'load-appearance_page_custom-background'.
O exemplo a seguir adiciona uma nova opção para background-origin- útil se você definiu uma borda bodyna folha de estilo.

Achei a resposta fornecida por @toscho muito útil, mas como eu tinha mais de uma opção para adicionar, alterei um pouco o código, de modo que tudo o que preciso fazer é criar uma classe estendida simples com algumas opções.
Também achei inconveniente adicionar as opções simplesmente ao final da lista. Por isso, adicionei um argumento de 'posição' que permite selecionar qualquer uma dessas opções -
'first' - Antes da primeira configuração (atualmente Posição)'last'- Após a última configuração (cor de fundo atual)Integer position - O número da linha para inserir a configuração antes (deve ser um número inteiro)Aqui está o código -
